Worst company I have dealt with in 40 years

RUN FROM ORDERING FROM SPECTRUM. Tried to switch from another provider to Spectrum. From immediate problems at the time of the order, to their claimed losing the order, to their lack of ability to install on the scheduled date. They showed up and advised we needed to have third party participation which had never been never mentioned prior to the time the tech showed up to install our lines. Never mentioned during the long and tenuous process to get to installation. They lied about the order, they claimed their terms and conditions are only about porting when their site would not allow me access to the terms and conditions. I was required to acknowledge I agreed with them while they never provided the detail. I could go on and on about the 10-week process that resulted in my cancelling the order. They even screwed up the cancellation which caused our 6 phone lines to be disconnected for approximately 30 hours. Their front line lies, their supervisors lie, God know what else they do I did not experience. But with such crap just tying to order services, you would be crazy to trust them.

Beware of bait and switch type ads with small print telling you the real price. Do not let Spectrum trick, fool or deceive you.

Read the fine print if you sign up but it is better if you find another company. Spectrum does not have its act together.

Trying to charge me 2x for one month. Not sending out the billing like I had requested. I don't want anymore emails, I want a paper bill. I tried to get the address to mail the payment to and they told me to join a just answers club for $50.00 per month. Your company is crazy. I just needed an address.

Lady, Ms. Justice gave me a confirmation number 000802****51035 but nothing changed on my tv or my bill. You will be happy to know that each time I called all of the 9 people I spoke with asked me what Cell Phone Service I used and tried to sell me their plan. Even when I said I didn't need more expenses, trying to cut my tv bill now. They must get a bonus for each sale they make. All I want is my tv to stop getting Beyond Basic tv and no DVR service. I am a customer for 8 years, had a drastic drop in income, widowed, handicapped, 80 years of age, etc. and should get a break!!!!

Crap Billing

Spend more time calling customer service on billing mistakes. They pad the bill every month with unwanted charges or late fees. With the slow mail these days they try to hit customers with late charges . Pay bill each month after month for ask for credits for bull SH..t charges. Don't use this cable firm crap billing and customer service. The ad's with low rates are not true once you take on the service the bills are never correct.

CALLED ABOUT BILL BEING LATE GOT 6 DAYS PRYOR TO BEING DUE, CUSTOMER SERVICE SAID NOT THEIR PROBLEM THAT IT WAS NOT EVEN POSSIBLE THAT THEY HAD MAILED IT LATE , WAS LATE 2 MONTHS IN A ROW, AND SHE REPETED IT WAS A PROBLEM WITH MY MAIL. SO WAS NOT THEIR PROBLEM AGAIN, NO DISCUSSION IT WAS JUST NOT THEIR PROBLEM.

HIgh fees and battle to get suspension of services shorter than 2 months

Spectrum charges $69.99 / month for internet ( we currently pay $59.99 with discount, which will expire next month). Because we leave on a 5 week trip we wanted to suspend services for that time. We were told they could only suspend services for 2 months or longer. After a few phone calls, complaining about this they did grant us the 5 week suspension , but cut us off 1 day early. It took us 3 hours and 10 (!!) representatives to get the issues resolved.

They cant send me an email confirming my order

last night (Wednesday) got pissed at Xfinitys lack of tech support (paying for a service thats not working correctly) so I made a call to Spectrum. The sales person said I would be receiving an email conformation of my order.

Its Thursday and I have not received an email. I called Spectrum, "Where is my email?" Im not in the system, passed me around for an hour and six minutes. Even the supervisor said they could not send me an email. Im supposed to wait at the house on Saturday morning and hope everything they "Told me" is going to happen without a hitch.

I asked them to check the drop before they come out. Nope. I asked for my order in writing, via an email.

Nope, they cant send me an email of my order.....Why? Why cant I receive a written copy (email) of my order so I can verify it is what I was told?

They say they cant and that is wrong.

Turned my landline off

Briefly, we moved our service in March and when we had a TV problem deleted my landline phone.For 9 days, after I DM them, they kept saying they were helping to fix the problem.On the 9th day, they told me they didnt handle my problem. From there, Johnathan said he fixed my phone with a new number, but disconnected my internet at the same time. Another rep disconnected me from our conversation and then a third rep was able to fix he problem.Main problem is the reps on twitter who suck you in with lies and then tell you they dont handle your problem. They hide behind their initials, no names.

Improper results to closing acct

On 6/30 /2020 I called spectrum in the am I called Spectrum to cancel our cable and internet. I was connected to the total disconnect dept.

I told them that I was moving and to disconnect immediately as we were moving out of state. I was told to return all equipment to Spectrum. The equipment was shipped via ups on 7/1/2020. I received a call on saying my acct was still open and they had not received my equipment.

As we have been traveling 7/7/2020 was my first chance to find my ups receipt and call. After I insisted that they did receive the equipment they looked again and verified that they had. They still insisted that I never cancelled my acct. I argued that it would have been stupid to do so when I was leaving and returning the equipment.

I was told some people do that. Then because my billing cycle ended 7/7/2020 I owed more money. The amt was $14.08.

Cannot Connect Directly To The Phone Department

There is a prompt when you call in for all other departments, why not this one? Are they looking to suppress the number of calls handled by live agents so that they can try to justify automating everything and moving jobs overseas where they are cheaper? Bad for employees, bad for customers! Prices are too high. Several outages and dropped calls. Does the company have a union? It should.

No Opt Out Options for Current Residents

A family member use to subscribe to Spectrum Cable about 5 years ago and has since moved into a nursing home, however since 5 years ago, she my family member disconnected Spectrum services for personal reasons unfortunately to this day, she still receives cable promotions/ads which is harrassing. Found out my family member could remove her name and address from their mailing list ( which takes 3 months), but they can continue to send ads/promotions about Spectrum Services by using the former subscriber's address and replace their name with RESIDENT which is totally not right because we don't want that crap sent to us either. Spectrum representative says everyone gets mail from Spectrum by way of using "RESIDENT" in place of former subscriber's name. Representative refused to give me the name of the C.E.O. of Spectrum (which I found out) and told me they don't have a way to remove individuals off mailing list because it is all sent out as bulk mail. I asked did they know Marisol Martinez who is Vice President of Multicultural Marketing and I was told no one by that name works for Spectrum Communications...Hum, either this person is trying to scam people or I was given the run around.

User's recommendation: Do your homework on companies that provide internet/tv communications like Spectrums Communication to inquire about their Opt Out Policy disabling them to sell your name and address to their companies and most important remove your name and address permanently after disconnecting services with them on bad terms. I reqret selecting Spectrum Communication for a family member and having to experience dissatisfaction with them for not removing not only their name and address, but to honor removing using former Spectrum customers address and mail their ads to new occupants of the home
